Firefox OS at XDA & Other Links

Today I discovered the Firefox OS community over at the XDA forums. I think Firefox OS ports to in-market devices would go a long way to increasing interest and participation in the project so this is particular exciting to me. (There are also some good discussions and links to community ports efforts on the B2G and Gaia lists.)

Long-time Mozillian, Chris Hofmann (@chofmann) pointed me to an excellent Firefox OS blog post by another long-time Mozillian, Fabricio Zuardi titled Firefox OS e o sonho do celular hackeável: Reflexões sobre um smartphone livre. You might need to use Chrome to translate the article but it’s totally worth the read.

Twitter user, informandroid shares a photo of what appears to be a Huawei phone running Firefox OS.

And last but not least, in, a contributor named Carlos Sánchez has put up a site where he’s hosting pre-compiled Firefox OS 1.1, 1.2 and nightly images for Hamachi devices. Awesome!!
