It’s been several days now since the CZU fires crested the ridge and started moving towards our home, triggering our evacuation.
Fortunately, the wind this week has been in our favor and the fire *seems* to have mostly stalled out in its movement down the slope towards us.
(The fires would have to cross a jeep trail, a creek, and then one mile of forest to reach our home.)
Unfortunately, the wind forecast for the next few days doesn’t look so great. Over the weekend and into early next week, the winds are expected to point directly at our home.
Also, early next week there’s more dry lightning expected which could start new fires in our area bringing additional threats.
In case you didn’t read my previous post, know that Deanna and I are safe, with the pets, in Mountain View well away from the fires.
