The CZU evacuation warning for the Santa Clara County zones bordering Skyline Blvd along the ridge of the Santa Cruz Mountains has been lifted.
This is, at least in part, I believe, because of increased confidence the fire fighters have in the control line established on the northeast edge of the fire.
This is good news for us because that’s the same control line protecting our neighborhood and our home.
Now, the evacuation warning along Skyline may have mostly been because of the threat of new fires from lightning that was expected to hit us on Sunday and Monday and didn’t. But based on what I’ve been hearing in the fire briefings, I think it also has to do with the improvements to that control line.
