Still Standing

Things continue to look good on our end of the CZU fire.

There are now 1,982 fire personnel working the CZU Lightning Complex with 198 engines, 32 water tenders, 12 helicopters, and 23 bulldozers. That’s about double the engines and personnel from a week ago when I heard one of the people in charge of fighting the fire say they were understaffed and they could easily use double the personnel for a fire this size. Hopefully staffing is sufficient now to fight this fire effectively.

Our house is still standing and we should be returning home soon, hopefully in days and not weeks. We’re doing fine in our hotel in Mountain View. The pets are adjusted, I’m working regularly again, and having high speed internet is the highlight perk of this unfortunate situation.
