This is a cropped map showing the north part of the CZU fire complex. The red is the area burned by fire. The blue rectangle is our neighborhood, and the blue dot is our home.
The fire’s edge was within 1.25 miles of our home when they finally got a solid control line in place and stopped the fire’s northeastern progression.
Thank you to the all volunteer La Honda Fire Brigade, and the Mid Peninsula Open Space District park rangers who were early and effective on the scene. Thank you also to all the CALFIRE crews and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s department. And thank you to any other volunteers on the scene and any out of state fire fighters that were involved. You all saved our park, our neighborhood, and our home and for that we are forever grateful.
