I’m crushed as I imagine the millions of black charred redwoods all across our beautiful mountain side and the thought of some of the giants burning to death, but I’m encouraged that in a few short months, almost all of the “burned” redwoods will start to sprout new growth, and in just a few years, the green will start to overtake the burn scars, and in a few short decades the forest will have recovered from this catastrophic fire.

This is a photograph of some redwoods that burned just 3 years ago up in Oregon. Look at that regrowth!
