Way up in this redwood we have a little radio that points to the top of the mountain and connects us to the rest of the world with a 1.5 Mbit link. (Thanks Skyline Broadband!)

And that 1.5 Mbit WISP connection really is our only option today.

Cable doesn’t come this far into the woods. We’re not close enough to the telephone exchange for DSL. The trees are too tall for geostationary satellites. And the nearest cell signal is several miles away.
